Maggi Tinsley joined the staff in August 2023 after more than a decade operating her own communications firm. Prior to that, she held positions at the Valentine, AIA Virginia, and Visual Arts Center of Richmond. A North Carolinian with deep Virginia roots, Maggi holds degrees from Duke University and Virginia Commonwealth, where she taught writing as the recipient of a graduate assistantship. She serves on the board of ART 180, is a VMFA tour guide, and has had many volunteer roles at St. James’s, her home parish. Away from St. Mary’s, Maggi is most often found stitching, reading, or playing pickleball. She and her adult daughters enjoy movies and performing arts, travel, and NCAA basketball.
